Support Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • This job is strictly shift-based, designed to support the US customer hardware and software infrastructure in working order 24/7 from the Support center in Kiev office of SysIQ
  • Timely acknowledge and resolve customer incidents, communicate with and service the external company users
  • Review, analyze, and determine of types of resolution or escalation paths for the incidents / cases
  • Properly escalate incidents to the appropriate level of technical service support team members
  • Perform activities, prescribed in the knowledge base, on the known error situations, in order to restore user services in shortest time possible 
  • Communicate with other support team members and developers in order to track and resolve current issues
  • Report on the work performed to the team supervisor
  • Work / shift schedule: 1 week day shift, 1 week off, 1 week night shift, 1 week off (daily shift duration is 12 hours)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Unix-based systems administration skills
  • Shell scripting is a strong plus
  • Network administration skills
  • Relational database & SQL knowledge
  • Experience with Solaris, Linux, Windows OS
  • Oracle installation and configuration skills
  • Experience in Tomcat or other application server installation/configuration
  • Basic HTML, JavaScript, XML, Perl knowledge
  • English language at upper intermediate level
